Cookies

In compliance with Law 34/2002 of July 11, on Information Society Services and Electronic Commerce (LSSICE), we inform you that this website, BIRDING IN SPAIN’S WILD WEST, uses cookies.

The LSSICE applies to any type of file or device that is downloaded to a user’s terminal equipment to store data that can be updated and retrieved by the entity responsible for its installation. A cookie is one of these widely used files, which we will generically refer to as cookies.

Cookies are small text files sent to a browser from a web server to record user activity on a website so that this information can be retrieved later while browsing through the different pages connected to the server that installed them.

Cookies usually store technical information, personal preferences, content customization, usage statistics, links to social networks, access to user accounts, etc.

Types of Cookies

Below is a classification of cookies based on several categories. However, it is important to note that the same cookie may fall into more than one category.

  • According to the entity that manages them

    • Own cookies: These are sent to the user’s terminal equipment from a device or domain managed by the editor and from which the service requested by the user is provided.
    • Third-party cookies: These are sent to the user’s terminal equipment from a device or domain not managed by the editor but by another entity that processes the data obtained through the cookies.
    • If cookies are installed from a device or domain managed by the editor, but the information collected is managed by a third party, they are not considered own cookies.
  • According to the length of time they remain active

    • Based on how long they remain activated on the terminal equipment, we can distinguish:
      • Session cookies: A type of cookie designed to collect and store data while the user accesses a web page. They are generally used to store information only for the service requested by the user on a single occasion (e.g., a list of purchased products).
      • Persistent cookies: A type of cookie in which the data remains stored in the terminal and can be accessed and processed for a period defined by the cookie’s manager, which can range from a few minutes to several years.
  • According to their purpose

    • Based on the purpose for which the data obtained through the cookies are processed, we can distinguish:
      • Technical cookies: These allow the user to navigate through a web page, platform, or application and use the different options or services available, such as controlling traffic and data communication, identifying the session, accessing restricted areas, remembering items in a cart, processing a purchase order, signing up for or participating in an event, using security features during browsing, storing content for video or audio streaming, or sharing content on social networks.
      • Customization cookies: These allow the user to access the service with some general characteristics predefined according to a series of criteria on the user’s terminal, such as language, the type of browser used, regional configuration, etc.
      • Analytics cookies: These allow the party responsible for them to track and analyze the behavior of users on the linked websites. The information collected by this type of cookie is used to measure website, application, or platform activity and to create user browsing profiles to introduce improvements based on the analysis of the usage data.
      • Advertising cookies: These allow the management of advertising spaces in the most efficient way possible, which, if applicable, the editor has included on a web page, application, or platform from which the requested service is provided based on criteria such as the edited content or the frequency with which the ads are shown.
      • Behavioral advertising cookies: These enable the management of advertising spaces as efficiently as possible, which, if applicable, the editor has included on a web page, application, or platform from which the requested service is provided. These cookies store user behavior information obtained through continuous observation of their browsing habits, allowing the development of a specific profile to display advertising based on it.
